Despues de mi anterior entrada era necesario hacer una pequeña entrada para explicar este concepto. Blaxploitation es un genero de cine que tuvo un gran boom en los años 70, ya que eran películas protagonizadas por afroamericanos, con música de afroamericanos y no es necesario decir a que público estaba destinado. Se trataban de películas que hablaban de pimps(chulos de putas), putas, investigadores, con una gran dosis de chulería, de persecuciones, de música funk y soul. No podían faltar los peinados afro, las armas, los pantalones acampanados…Un genero que revoluciono socialmente, los afroamericanos salian en el cine (como ya hizo su compatriota Sidney Poitier años antes) y estaban orgullosos de su cine. Tuvo como grandes actores a Richard Roundtree, que interpretó al primer Shaft y a Pam Grier, que despues de ser una gloria del Blaxploitation, cayo en el olvido hasta que un dia Quentin Tarantino, gran fanático del genero cuando era pequeño, llamó a su puerta para ofrecerle el papel protagonista en Jackie Brown, alzando de nuevo su carrera. El concepto tambien se atribuye a la música, que incluye las bandas sonoras de estas películas, necesarias para darles ese toque, como diría, ese toque Shaft, tan setentero. En este campo destacan Curtis Mayfield, Isaac Hayes y James Brown, que le dieron sin duda a los años 70 un toque más funk, más blaxploitation.
