Los camisas rojas son unos personajes muy recurrentes en televisión y cine, que tienen una sola finalidad, morir. Cuando había misiones en la serie, los camisas rojas se unian a los protagonistas como refuerzo, aunque desde el momento en que salían de la nave ya debian saber que iban a morir, el color de sus trajes les delataba. En parte eran como un sacrificio que se hacía y realmente si te metes en la piel de uno de los camisas rojas, debía ser una desgracia que te cogieran a ti para una misión, ya te podías ir despidiendo de tus compañeros.
