Dexter 4×12: The Getaway

Una temporada se cierra y los ciclos de dos asesinos convergen en un final de capítulo que personalmente me ha dejado tan tocado como en su día lo hizo la película Requiem por un sueño.
He tardado mucho en redactar este review y eso se ha debido a dos factores, el primero: la impresión que me causó el capítulo; el segundo: el pequeño parón navideño que hemos realizado en la web.
Hecha esta pequeña aclaración, pasemos al review propiamente dicho…
El capítulo nos situa en el momento en que Trinity se presenta ante Dexter. El chico de la sangre, al verse arrinconado y descubierto pacta dejarle en paz a cambio de que no haya ninguna repercusión por su parte. Sin embargo, tan pronto como Trinity abandona el edificio, Dex le sigue con la intención de acabar definitivamente con él.
Pero la suerte no le acompaña y cuando parece que finalmente tiene a su presa lista para ser plastificada tiene que posponerlo nuevamente al tener que atender un problema causado precisamente durante la persecución.
Cuando finalmente parece que va a poder finalizar el trabajo, descubre que su presa ha escapado y que ahora es él, o mejor dicho su família, la que está en peligro.
Nuestro protagonista actúa con rápidez para ponerlos a todos a salvo: por un lado, Astor y Cody tenían programado un viaje a Disneyland. Por otro, Rita irá se adelantará con Harrison en el viaje de su luna de miel con Dex, y esperará a que él se le una al día siguiente.
Mientras tanto Debra es obligada por Batista a tomarse un día libre debido a los últimos acontecimientos, y ella lo aprovecha para hacer una visita al domicilio de Laura Moser: una de las amantes de su padre.
La sorpresa inicial de Deb, al reconocer la casa como el lugar donde el asesino del hielo la llevó, la lleva a indagar un poco más y a descubrir el gran secreto: Laura Moser tenía dos hijos. Uno era Brian Moser, con quien estuvo prometida y que acabó resultando el asesino del hielo…el otro es su hermano adoptivo: Dexter.
Finalmente la policía se da cuenta que estaba siguiendo una pista falsa, y acaban descubriendo que Trinity es en realidad Arthur Mitchell y que sus ciclos comienzan siempre con el rapto de un niño. Así que se lanzan en su busca y captura.
Trinity, tras escapar de Dex, y descubrir que éste le ha robado todo su dinero para evitar que huya del país, decide darle un escarmiento e ir a por él.
Finalmente el oscuro pasajero gana el juego del gato y el ratón y Arthur Mitchell acaba “en limpios y ordenados paquetes” como diría el propio Dexter. Todo ha acabado y es el momento de dejar atrás al oscuro pasajero para disfrutar de la família… tal vez una nueva vida sea posible… ¿o quizá no?
Dexter vuelve a casa por la noche, y tras escuchar un mensaje en de Rita en que le explica que ha tenido que volver a casa a coger los billetes de avión, tanto él como los espectadores hacemos un descubrimiento impactante…
Rita está muerta desangrada en la bañera… Trinity la cazó, a su lado en el suelo, el pequeño Harrison se haya empapado en un charco de su madre, tal y como le pasó a Dexter.
Lo cierto es que viendo esa escena, a uno le vienen varios mensajes a la vez…
La escena es similar a la situación que causó que ambos asesinos se convirtieran en lo que son. Arthur vió a su hermana desangrarse en la bañera, mientras que Dexter pasó días en la sangre de su madre asesinada ante sus ojos.
Un final de temporada impactante sin duda y que marcará un punto de inflexión en la serie. Es posible que nos encontremos ante un “Jumping de shark” en toda regla.
No quiero extenderme demasiado en un tema que no tiene que ver directamente con el capítulo, así que os espero en el foro para comentar todo lo que puede conllevar este fin de temporada que aunque triste, porque a mí Rita me parece un personaje entrañable, es a la vez sobérvio.
No obstante, si quisiera comentar un apunte que me hizo Big Lebowsky y con el que estoy cien por cien de acuerdo y es el siguiente:
El verdadero culpable de la muerte de Rita es el Oscuro pasajero de Dexter pues si éste hubiese dejado que Trinity se fuera, éste núnca hubiese atacado a su esposa para hacerle daño. De hecho, el ánsia de querer matarle ÉL y A SU MANERA, se hace patente no solo en éste capítulo sino en varios a lo largo de la temporada.
