El 15 de febrero de 1990 llegaba a nuestras televisiones una serie que ha trascendido el término de clásico. Una serie que aún a día de hoy sigue dando que hablar ya sea mediante videojuegos, como adaptaciones a la gran pantalla.
Para todos aquellos nostálgicos que crecieron con ella, y para los que la ven por primera vez gracias a la televisión o internet, comentemos de qué trataba esa historia que comenzaba hace mucho tiempo, en un lugar que nadie había oido ni visto jamás, donde vivía un niño con la única compañía de la madre naturaleza…
Dragon Ball, anime basado en un manga dibujado por Akira Toriyama, (autor también de la conocidísima serie Dr. Slump), nos cuenta la historia de Son Goku, un niño bonachón y despreocupado que tiene la peculiaridad de tener cola además de una fuerza desmesurada. Un día como cualquier otro su camino se cruza con el de Bulma, una chica de 16 años que va en busca de las siete Dragon Balls, pues se dice que al reunirlas se puede invocar al gran dragón Shen Long para pedir que le cumpla cualquier deseo.
Ésta era la trama original ideada por Toriyama, (que se basó en la historia china “Viaje al oeste, las aventuras del rey mono”), y que de hecho no iba a ser más que otra historia corta que acabaría tras la aparición de Shen Long.
Pero el éxito masivo de la serie propició que los editores convencieran al autor para que alargase la historia durante aproximadamente diez años.
Aquí os dejaremos los reviews de los 153 episodios que componen Dragon Ball desde que se conocen Goku y Bulma, hasta la boda de éste con Chi chi.
Las aventuras posteriores de Son Goku se emitieron bajo el nombre de Dragon Ball Z, (aunque el manga original se llamó Dragon Ball de principio a fin).
Una serie que causó cierta controversia en su día en europa, pero que si se observa sin prejuicios muestra un marcado énfasis por una serie de valores morales que parecen en desuso hoy día: como la amistad, el respeto, la tolerancia, y aunque a algunos les choque… el uso de la violencia solo como último recurso.
Como último apunte, solo diré que les reviews serán hechas a partir de la Dragon Box: una colección que nos muestra la obra original remasterizada y a la cual se han vuelto a agregar escenas que en su día fueron censuradas.
