La investigación por parte de Bendford y el resto del equipo del FBI de los ángeles se haya en un parón burocrático. Y es que aunque hyana habido relativos avances en relación a la causa de los flashforwards, no parecen los suficientes como para justificar el presupuesto invertido en ella.
El equipo es pues interrogado mediante polígrafo y posteriormente ante el senado, sin embargo las dudas del Mark respecto a su visión que parecía más como flashes mientras que la del resto de personas era un recuerdo nítido, pone en peligro la continuidad de esa línea de investigación, y es que el agente Bendford no desea compartir que en su visión estaba borracho.
Un capítulo de los que podríamos asumir como transición, ya que se nos presentan nuevos personajes, como la senadora Clemente, o el proópio presidente de Estados Unidos y su relación entre ellos, concretamente entre los dos mencionados y Satanford Wedeck, el jefe directo de Mark.
Una relación que podemos resumir de la siguiente manera:
El presidente y Wedeck se conocían desde hace tiempo, y éste último se encargó de tapar un posible escándalo por parte del primero que en su día la ahora senadora Clemente no pudo demostrar por falta de pruebas.
Sin embargo, al conseguir el jefe del FBI los fondos por medio de chantaje al presidente, la situación que nos presenta la serie sea presumiblemente de tres personajes enfrentados entre sí. Faltará ver, si esto avanza o se queda en una mera anécdota para demostrar que Stanford Wedeck es capaz de todo para conseguir lo que cree correcto.
La otra pequeña línea argumental del capítulo gira en torno a Janice Hawk, mostrándonos su insegura vida sentimental para generar más dudas, tanto a ella como a los espectadores, de la veracidad del flashforward. Éste hecho queda remarcado sobre todo al final del episodio, cuando todos los miembros son atacados simultáneamente, aún estando Janice a kilometros.
Y es que mientras el grupo formado por Bendford, Noh y Wedeck parece salir indemne, la pobre Janice queda en apariencia gravemente herida mientras recuerda su visión.
Como digo, un capítulo más de transición, o de puro relleno según como se quiera ver, en el que lo único importante que se nos muestra de la investigación principal es el descubrimiento por parte del equipo de unos extraños pilares en la zona de Ganwar que se terminaron antes del desvanecimiento de la gente de la región en 1991.
Por otra parte, el tiroteo en el que se ven inmersos los personajes parece dar una explicación, tanto a la visión de Mark en la que dos hombres iban a por él, como a la llamada que aseguraba que Noh moriría asesinado. La duda está ahora en el responsable de tal acto, y es que aunque en el capítulo puede parecer obra del Presidente, las cosas no siempre son lo que parecen…
