Con un tema tan trillado pero a la vez tan aparentemente incombustible como son los zombis, se nos presenta un anime que, al menos en su primer episodio, apunta muy buenas maneras tanto en el apartado técnico como en el artístico.
El argumento es de entrada muy simple y arquetípico: hay un ataque de zombis en un instituto, y los protagonistas tratan de sobrevivir, sin tener ni idea de qué es lo que sucede y cómo ha sucedido.
Un estilo de dibujo muy similar al de obras como Tenjou Tenge, la productora de anime Madhouse, (responsable de otras series como Death note, Paradise Kiss y la propia Tenjou Tenge), nos trae la adaptación del manga de Daisuke Sato.
No he tenido ocasión de leer el manga original, que por lo que sé, aún se está publicando en Japón, (lo cual me hace pensar que muy probablemente el anime quede inconcluso o con un final alternativo, aunque no es más que una teoría personal en la que espero estar equivocado).
Volviendo al análisis del anime en sí, y basándome en su primer episodio, nos encontramos con una serie con una animación muy cuidada, con una banda sonora que se adapta perfectamente a cada momento y que no se corta a la hora de representar momentos duros, como es la traición de una amiga a otra para sobrevivir.
Como en toda obra con zombis de por medio, la sangre fluye en ríos.
La atmósfera es bastante agobiante y los dilemas morales aparecen en su justa medida y mejor representados de lo que habitualmente lo hacen en obras de éste estilo.
Por otra parte hay algo de fan service sin venir a cuento, aunque eso es ya algo habitual tanto en el cine como en las series.
Gran serie que merece ser vista tanto por fans del anime, como por fans de los zombis independientemente de si sólo te gusta uno de los dos.
