¿Quien no conoce a la familia más amarilla de la televisión? Ni el mismo Matt Groening iba a pensar que la serie que comenzó como cortos en el programa del show de Tracy Ullman, iba a alcanzar la fama mundial que tiene actualmente la serie(pese a que las últimas temporadas estan hechas por hacer). La serie sigue el formato típico, contandonos las historias de una familia normal y corriente y viendo en que situaciones se meten. Hasta aquí todo sería tan normal, si no fuera porque se trata de una familia un tanto peculiar.
Homer es posiblemente el personaje de animación más vago jamás creado, además de su alto nivel de idiotez e irresponsabilidad, pero Los Simpsons no serían nada sin él, ya que es el personaje central sobre el que se basa la serie, es el personaje gracioso, que realmente se hace cercano al público. Esta casado con Marge, que sin duda es uno de los personajes más insulsos de la televisión, lo único que hace es tener paciencia con Homer(aunque eso ya suponga demasiado hacer). Tienen 3 hijos, entre los que destaca Bart, más que nada por que es el típico niño gamberro, un poco idiota como su padre, y que da mucho juego a la serie. Su hermana Lisa es bastante más sosa, insoportable, y es una de las pocas personas sensatas de la serie, quizás por ello que no caiga bien. Y luego está el bebé..Maggie, que no habla, no hace nada, es aburrida y realmente en algunos capítulos se le ha intentado dar algo de protagonismo y han dado pena. Gracias a dios la serie cuenta con muchos recursos que se le han ido añadiendo a la serie a medida que crecía(ya que era imposible mantener la audiencia solo con Homer y Bart). Tenemos a Lenny y Carl, que son los amigos idiotas de Homer y que sinceramente…se hacen querer(sobretodo Lenny). A Moe y Barney, siempre dentro del bar, a Milkhouse como mejor amigo de Bart, a Nelson como matón del colegio, a Ralph como compañero especial de Bart,etc… hay infinidad de personajes que han ido dandole vida a la serie. Cada capítulo nos cuenta una historia, en la que veremos el problema al principio y como se resuelve al final, no sigue un argumento central, cada capítulo es independiente del otro.
Tiene dos caras la serie, la buena, ya que es una serie mítica que siempre ponen a la hora de comer(lo que hace que te sepas todos los capítulos de memoria) y la mala, que despues de 21 temporadas, la serie ya huele un poco, ya que no saben encontrarle más tramas a la serie, haciendo que lo que era una serie genial, se convierta en argumentos surrealistas, simplemente hechos con la intención de estirar un poco más la cuerda. Hay quien encuentra que las primeras temporadas son las mejores, y que las últimas son las peores, estoy de acuerdo en la segunda parte de la afirmación, ya que las primeras temporadas eran insulsas, mostraban a unos personajes aburridos y que simplemente contaban con una gracia al capítulo, eran más bien episodios dirigidos a dar lecciones de la vida que no a entretener. Mi opinión personal es que los mejores capitulos son los que se encuentran en el medio, ni es forralla para dar lecciones ni es forralla para alargar la historia, como en una buena hamburguesa, lo mejor esta entremedio.
