Finalmente los rumores se convirtieron en realidad, y el dia 18 pudimos disfrutar en primicia de la esperada secuela de la saga Twilight antes incluso que los americanos.
Veamos pues qué nos aporta esta nueva entrega de la saga en versión cinematográfica.
Dirigida en esta ocasión por Chris Weitz, (La brújula dorada), y con la banda sonora compuesta por Alexandre Desplat, (ganador de un oscar por la banda sonora de El curioso caso de Benjamin Button), nos llega una película que gana enteros con respecto a la anterior entrega de la saga. En otras palabras, Luna nueva es mejor película, y a la vez mejor adaptación de lo que fue Crespúsculo.
La historia nos explica que Edward decide alejarse definitivamente de Bella, al darse cuentra que incluso su propia familia puede suponer un peligro para ella.
Tras una amarga despedida, Bella cae en una profunda depresión de la que no ve salida hasta que se da cuenta que siempre que va a hacer alguna locura, Edward se le aparece. Al darse cuenta de esto, Bella decide comenzar a vivir la mayor cantidad de subidones de adrenalina posibles, y encuentra un compañero de locuras ideal en Jacob Black, su amigo quileute.
Cuando Jacob también decide alejarse de ella, Bella se presenta en casa de Jacob y descubre accidentalmente que éste es en realidad un Hombre lobo…
Y hasta aquí el resumen a grandes rasgos de la trama sin chafar demasiado la historia a aquellos que solo siguen las películas y no saben nada de los libros.
Aunque hay algunas variaciones propias de las adaptaciones de libros a películas, (como la forma en que Bella descubre la naturaleza de Jacob), nos encontramos con una película que esta vez sí se ha centrado exclusivamente en contar la historia que se nos explicaba el libro. Además la película se hace bastante más amena al contar con una buena dosis de acción, ya sea por la busqueda de subidón de adrenalina de Bella, como las luchas de los lobos o las escenas finales de la película.
Ésta vez, el “fan service” viene de la mano, o mejor dicho del torso de Taylor Lautner, (el actor que encarna a Jacob), que se pasa casi todo el film sin camiseta, (cosa que el Jacob literario no hace).
Para acabar, solo mencionar que la saga Crepúsculo en general no es una historia de vampiros u hombres lobo. Sino ante todo una historia de amor entre adolescentes, (por mucho que uno de ellos tenga más de cien años), que tiene como gancho las dos razas sobrenaturales ya mencionadas.
¿Por qué digo esto? Porque a pesar de que esta segunda entrega es como ya he comentado mejor película y adaptación, los más aficionados al genero sobrenatural echaran en falta un poco de ese misterio oscuro y un tanto siniestro que suele caracterizar el genero, y que la saga Crepúsculo no llega a alcanzar. Y es que como ya hemos visto en infinidad de películas, libros, series y hasta videojuegos, el amor entre humano y vampiro puede dar más de sí que un “te quiero, eres mi vida”, “no, tú eres la mía” que es en lo que se acaba resumiendo la saga.
Por eso es de agradecer el giro que suponen los vulturis en el tramo final de la película, y la actuación de Dakota Fanning encarnando a Jane de forma magistral.
Y ya para acabar, un comentário a título personal.
He comprobado como la película que nos ocupa, ha provocado un cambio en el personaje favorito de muchas chicas que literariamente preferían a Edward, y que tras ver la película prefieren a Jacob. Ésto obviamente es producto de las hormonas, pero pienso que los realizadores de la película deberían haberlo tenido en cuenta. Ya que cuando le llega el turno de enseñar torso a Edward, la comparación es inevitable, y uno se plantea qué vio Bella en el vampiro…
¿Por qué culpo a los realizadores de la película? Muy sencillo. Taylor Lautner lleva compitiendo en campeonatos de Extreme Martial Arts desde los siete años, de los cuales ha ganado unos cuantos. (Las Extreme Martial Arts se basan coreografías donde se mezclan movimientos técnicos de artes marciales y acrobacias). Mientras que Robert Pattinson no.
Viendo la evidente diferencia físicaque iba a haber, no costaba nada poner un programa de entrenamiento para Pattinson, y que cuando llegase su momento de gloria, la direferencia no fuese tan notable. No hablo de darle volumen, sino de definición muscular.
Esto que digo no es tan raro en el cine, muchos han sido los actores que han pasado por entrenamientos específicos para representar un papel: Will Smith en Alí, Keanu Reeves en Matrix… o si queréis un ejemplo más claro Spiderman: mirad la escena en que Peter Parker se va a dormir despues de que le pique la araña radioactiva, y la escena de cuando se despierta. Hay meses de diferencia en el rodaje de una y otra.
