Noticias: Warcraft al cine de la mano de Sam Raimi

Sam Raimi, el director encargado de la trilogía de Spiderman, prepara entre sus futuros proyectos la versión cinematografica del videojuego Warcraft.
Warcraft es un videojuego de estrategia en tiempo real de la compañía Blizzard, y que, tras dos secuelas se vió trasladado al genero de RPG multijugador online en el año 2004 bajo el nombre World of Warcraft, y que cuenta ya con diversas expansiones.
Para los que no conozcan el videojuego original, tan solo comentar que cuenta con una ambientación con tintes de El señor de los anillos, y cuenta con una historia muy elaborada girando en torno a la lucha entre las distintas razas fantásticas que pueblan el mundo entre las que se encuentra la raza humana.
Como último apunte, decir que el cineasta alemán Uwe Boll trató en su día de adquirir los derechos de World of Warcraft pero éstos le fueron denegados por parte de la compañía. Presumiblemente ésta negativa vino dada por la pésima calidad de las películas del señor Boll que han supuesto siempre desastres en taquilla, lo que le ha valido ser considerado el heredero de Ed Wood como peor director de cine de la historia.
Se hace curioso que gran parte de la filmografía del señor Boll, por no decir toda, se sustenta de adaptaciones de videojuegos. Y es que, al igual que pasa con los libros, no importa lo bueno que pueda ser el guión de un videojuego si se lleva mal a la pantalla.
Finalmente Blizzard pareció ceder ante Sam Raimi quien pese al fiasco que pudo suponer la tercera película para los fans de Spiderman, tuvo un buen resultado con la adaptación del personaje en las dos anteriores entregas.
Se desconocen datos exactos del guión y del reparto, aunque se baraja que la película podría ver la luz para 2013.
