¿Qué sucede cuando un gran director decide tomar prestado el estilo de otro gran director para contar una película determinada?
Parece que esto fue lo que se planteó Martin Scorsese cuando se decidió a hacer Shutter Island y decidió tomar el estilo de David Lynch.
La película nos cuenta la historia del agente Teddy Daniels, (Leonardo DiCaprio), quien acude a Shutter Island, una institución para delincuentes con problemas mentales situada en una isla, para investigar la desaparición y posible fuga de Rachel Solando, una interna que ahogó a sus tres hijos.
Ted y su compañero Chuck, (Mark Ruffalo a quien vimos en Zodiac), irán descubriendo que en Shutter Island, no todo es lo que parece.
Realmente me veo bastante cohibido a la hora de explicar el argumento de ésta película ya que es de esas en las que un dato de más puede suponer chafar grandes sorpresas.
Hay que decir que la película se basa en la novela homónima de Dennis Lehane.
Leonardo DiCaprio vuelve a demostrar a los pocos que aún le recuerden como “el chico de Titanic”, que ha madurado y se ha convertido en un actorazo por derecho propio.
Scorsese por su parte toma prestado la alternancia entre lo onírico y lo real tan propia de David Lynch, para dar forma a una película que te absorbe de principio a fin y que culmina con un giro tan inesperado como sorprendente. Aunque personalmente me quedo con la reflexión final del personaje de DiCaprio.
Una de esas películas que merecen ser vistas y de las que requieren sentarse a verlas sin distracciones.
